Why Americans don't like Soccer.

Ok, so it's been bugging me that more Americans don't embrace Soccer. To figure it out I have to think of the reasons an American wouldn't like Soccer. It seems most "mainstream" Americans don't have the time nor the patience to watch a sport that isn't fast paced and action packed. They need to watch a sport like basketball or Football where something is always happening. They don't understand the necessity of patience with a sport like Soccer. It takes time to develop an attack that may produce a goal. Time that most Americans aren't willing to spend waiting for a goal. Another reason an American might not watch Soccer is some Americans have deluded themselves into thinking it's "gay" to watch or play Soccer. There is no way to respond to that kindly. Soccer is the most played sport in the world. It doesn't surprise me that Americans won't watch it. Because much like the U.S. and the Metric system, which the rest of the world uses, we just won't follow the rest of the world. We always have to do something entirely different. I.e. take what the world knows as football, call it Soccer, and invent our own football. Which is completely different than what the rest of the world would think if you mentioned football. I guess when you think about it, the U.S. are the "hipsters" of the world. Sorry if this rant has drifted in another direction. It happens.
